Purpose


Independently manages IT systems and networks, within the defined specifications and
agreements with the manager/coordinator, in order for the client to use these systems as
optimal as possible.


Tasks and Responsibilities

  1. System Management
    Takes care of certain management tasks within the agreements with the manager and
    client, in order for service level to be achieved.

    Main activities
  • Is responsible for the uptime of a section of the IT system;
  • Performs all defined management tasks for example back up checks and restores, user administration etc.;
  • Takes care of installation and patch activities.
  1. Incident management
    Solves and reports back certain reported incidents, within the appointments made with the manager and/or client, to have the system functioning properly again.

    Main activities
  • Achieves the agreed on service level;
  • Takes care of quality improvements for the service desk by offered support.
  1. Documentation
    Completes and maintains reports and documentation on time and correctly with regards to
    the managed IT environments, in compliance with the management agreements, in order
    to make optimal management possible.

    Main acitivities
  • Maintains the management documents fully, completely and on time in relation to the managed IT environments.
  1. Consulting
    Gives advice to clients and colleagues in the technical and application area, within own
    area of expertise, to the satisfaction of the receiver of advice and within the time target.

    Main activities
  • Proactively makes propositions for improvements;
  • Analyses existing problem areas;
  • Determines improvements and offering solutions;
  • Keeps up with the correct technical knowledge.
  1. Sales
    Proactively signals potential company-business in order to obtain extra income and increase
    customer satisfaction.

    Main activities
  • Assists in presales cases;
  • Informs account management on possible extra work.
  1. Planning & Administration
    Ensures timely and correct planning and administration, within the company standards and
    agreements and in accordance with customer-administrations, to ensure a professional
    delivery.

    Main activities
  • Ensures timely and correct administration of time sheets;
  • Ensures delivery within time, within budget and agreed quality;
  • Monitors progress of own tasks;
  • Communicates on forehand about possible delays or overrun.
  1. Replacement
    Keeps colleagues up to date with regards to work instructions, procedures and customer documentation, according to specifications, in order for the necessary work to be taken over in absence of the employee.

    Main activities
  • Guarantees the continuity of the level of service.

 
Job Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor level electronics or level acquired through experience.

Experience, knowledge and skills

  • A minimum of one year experience as Junior System Manager or Service desk employee;
  • Certified knowledge of Microsoft (MCSE) and/or Novell (CNE) and/or Unix;
  • Three years experience of network and data communication.
